Details
JAmodified forged pistons are under the control of a rigorous Quality Assurance system. Each piston is subjected to a variety of inline quality checks to ensure dimensions and meet stringent tolerance requirements. JAmodified employs a variety of testing equipment to accurately assess these tolerances, including a CMM, Air and Height-Gages and a 2D measuring system to name just a few. The initial quality assurance starts with the selection of steel, followed by a strict forging and a heat treating process.Every forged piston leaves JAmodified’s facility with a specification card. This card displays a part number, critical dimensions, weights and job number ; all for ease of identification and tracking.
BMW-N55 additional information：
- Strutted skirt design is the strongest and designed to run at as little as .004″ clearance with excellent skirt wear and minimal noise or rock
- Tighter tolerances on 14 critical areas of the piston
Anti-detonation Grooves with the added benefit of keeping the top ring groove free of carbon
JAmodifed Forged Pistons are designed for naturally aspirated or moderate nitrous applications, and they are made from 4032 aluminum, making them up to 20 percent lighter than traditional forged pistons. The forging process of these pistons eliminates metal porosity, improves ductility, and enables the piston to run cooler than a cast piston. Engineered to run tighter piston-to-wall clearances and for longevity, forged pistons are ideal for street performance, endurance racing, and drag racing applications.
